Hannah is here!!!!
The proud boys with their little girl!
Can you tell that Adam is just a "little" happy?
Hannah definitely has her daddy's hair!!
.........and here is miss Hannah!
This blog was started to keep both family & friends up to date on all the latest events (sometimes both good & bad)going on in our lives. Please check back in as often as you're able to see how we're doing!
I went to the dr. @ lunch, and got some very good news! First off after being weighed, b/p checked, etc. the nurse took me in and asked questions about contractions, Hannah's movement, etc. My doctor came in a while later, and I told him that he was right about seeing me again this week! He said that he was sure things had progressed, but he would check everything to see where I stood. She is measuring right on schedule at 38 weeks, and her heartbeat is great. He then did the internal check and said that I'm still at a 3, but I'm approx. 75% effaced now, and very ripe. She has dropped even further down, and he said that it wouldn't surprise him if I went on my own over the weekend. IF I don't, I am scheduled to be induced Monday(3/26) morning!!!!!!!!! I am very close now to FINALLY meeting miss Hannah!
I had another checkup this past Friday, and as much as I was hoping for some progress, there had been no change. The only upside was Dr. Wein told me that Hannah's head was very low now. I asked who would be on call this weekend, and he told me. He also said that he felt like I would not go this weekend, that he would see me again this coming week. If she hangs in there, I go back to see him again this coming Thursday morning. MAYBE there will be some change at that appointment. I guess both she and the Lord know when her birthday is supposed to be, and this is both of their ways of teaching me PATIENCE!!! Something that I've never been good with when it comes to wanting something and having trouble waiting on it! That night after the appointment, I did pray about it and just came to the conclusion that this, like so many other things is totally out of my control. Hannah will come when she's ready, and the longer she stays the better off she'll be. I will be 38 weeks tomorrow, so I know the time is drawing near regardless. I'm just so anxious to see my sweet little daughter, and for Adam to meet his baby sister. The Lord has truly been good to us as a family, and to me for blessing me with two healthy pregnancies. Aside from keeping one cold or another, my 2 pregnancies have been VERY stress free. No morning sickness, bedrest, etc. I can't complain about anything. Hopefully I will have some new news to post in here soon. Right now it's just wait, and keep reading all my baby books! Love to all - - - - Amy
I just love this picture of Adam - shows off those beautiful BLUE eyes that match his shirt!!
When I got back to work from my dr. appt/lunch, I was telling the girls all about how the appointment went and how "in shock" I was at the news. Well, my phone rang and it was my boss needing to go over some work from that morning. So we stayed in her office for a while, and she said that we needed to check the numbers with another manager. She told me that Kim (my previous boss) was in a meeting. So she opens the door to the conference room, and I stepped back (b/c I didn't want to go into someone's meeting!!!), and Julie told me, "it's okay - c'mon!" Then I looked in and the entire conf. room was decorated for my shower and everyone was in there waiting on me! They had all the yummy "shower" foods, punch, cake, etc. (Hannah was loving it all!)
As of yesterday's appt., I was 36wks and 3 days. The doctor I saw on rotation was great. She asked me lots of questions, listened to mine and even put me on some medicine to FINALLY knock (hopefully) this cold out. My blood pressure was great, and my weight was only up 2 pounds. The week before it had stayed the same. As of the week before, nothing had happened - no dilating, no thinning, Hannah hadn't dropped, etc. Well when she checked me yesterday, she said I am dilated to a 3 and I'm 50% effaced!!!!! The appt. was @ 11:15, and I had no spotting until yesterday afternoon @ 5:30. I then passed a very small little clot of blood, and that was it until this morning. After I'd been up a while, when I went to the bathroom there was a small bit of brown stain on the underwear and a little bit when I wiped. Once I got to work I went and checked again, and there wasn't any more spotting. However I am starting to feel a little bit of pressure, and didn't know whether to chalk it up to her checking me, or if Hannah is actually starting to drop. I can't go by my pg. w/ Adam because I had to be induced with him due to heavy bleeding. I'm getting excited, anxious, scared and nervous all rolled into one! I'm trying not to read too much into anything, but it's hard right now not to. I know I could stay at a "3" for another week or two, but something is telling me that I won't. I just don't feel like I will.
