9 week checkup

I had my appointment with Dr. Wein this morning, and everything went great! He did another u/s and I got to see little Jacob or Hannah moving his or her arm around!!! The heartbeat looked great and our baby is measuring right on target. He is saying the due date is April 2nd.

He talked to me today about more in depth screening due to my turning 35 before delivery. I told him I didn't want to do an amnio unless it was an absolute necessity. So instead I will go see Duke Perinatal Consultants of Greensboro the 14th of September. They will perform 1st trimester screening, which will include bloodwork, an u/s on the back of the babys head (mainly looking at the space in between the area in the neck and the thickness of the bones in the neck/back of the head area. They will also offer genetic counseling from what I was told today. After that I will go back to Dr. Wein 2 weeks later for another OB checkup on the 28th. So things are moving right along, and our baby is doing great!!

Tuesday update

I haven't posted out here in a couple weeks now, and thought that I was overdue to give an update! These past couple weeks have been really good. I'm still staying tired, but thankfully no morning sickness of any sort. I have learned to take my prenatal vitamins right before bed to offset alot of the indigestion problems I was having! I am 8 weeks today, and am so excited to think that in just a few more weeks I'll be feeling this baby fluttering around inside of me! I go back next Wednesday for my next u/s and checkup.

Nathan and I will be going to the beach this weekend for our 5 year anniversary. Adam will be staying with Nana & Papaw, so we'll see how all of us do! I don't think it'll hit me until we actually leave and get on the road, and then I'll want to go back and get him, I'm sure! He will have a ball, he probably won't want us to take him home w/ us on Sunday evening! This will be the first time he's stayed with anyone overnight. I hope it goes well.

Adam has learned that there is a baby in mommy's tummy. If I ask him where the baby is, he either lifts up my shirt and points to my belly, or he will rub my tummy with his hand and say "there's the baby!" He still doesn't want a brother OR a sister, but knows there is a BABY inside mommy! I'm not sure what he thinks we're having, but right now he doesn't want either one! haha!!

Nathan went fishing last week with his dad up in Chesapeake, Va. They went with several other guys and had a good time. He has become quite the traveller lately, and will be heading back out in October for his big hunting trip. He'll be gone a couple weeks.

I'll be posting some pictures in a few minutes, and be sure to check back in next week for my update from the u/s and maybe some beach pictures!

Doctor visit and u/s #2

I just got back from the doctor visit, and everything went great. There is JUST ONE little baby growing inside of me, and I was able to see that beautiful little flicker of a heartbeat on the screen. I'm measuring 6 weeks, so it looks like the due date will be 4/3/07! I go back in three weeks for another u/s, and that "fun" looooong list of questions that they ask. I'm already looking forward to the next time I get to see my little baby and his/her growth!!!

just got off the phone with the nurse............

and she said my HCG was a little over 3000! She didn't give me the exact number, but said that the doctor told me not to worry, that the numbers looked just fine! So, now I am going to try and rest a little easier until next weeks u/s appointment!!! I'm guessing that I should be about 25 DPO (days past ovulation), so according to some charts on the internet my numbers are right where they should be. I'm so relieved right now, and I can't wait until next weeks u/s appointment!!
