summer haircut-4/22/06

Adam is getting better and better at getting his haircut. Just give him a lollipop before and after, and you've won his heart! He got a sticker (you can see it on his shirt I think)for doing so well! Hopefully the next time will go just as smooth!

Catch of the day

Well actually, it was the catch from last week! Nathan went fishing last Thursday and brought these two home. He went down to High Rock after he got off work and called me on the way home to make a picture. He will be proud to have a picture of him and his catch on the blog! (The picture uploaded darker than what it looks on the digital camera - - not too sure what happened or caused that)

Adam has got his summer haircut now, it's so cute! He was such a big boy and never once fussed about having it done. He had a sucker which helped make the whole process a lot easier for us all!! We will be going to the zoo this Friday with our S.S. class (weather permitting), so I'm sure I will have some cute pictures to post afterward.

our little easter peep!

Adam decided to look at the pansies and pick a purple one for himself!

Easter weekend at the beach....

Nathan, Adam and I went to Carolina Beach this weekend to visit with Marilyn & Harold. We left out Friday morning and came back Sunday afternoon. We all had a great time. Unfortunately the guys didn't get to do any fishing, but the weather didn't mess up the girls from hitting the mall!!! Donnie, Jennifer and Courtney also came down to the beach for the weekend. This was miss Courtney's first trip to the beach!! Marilyn,Sharon and I went to the sunrise service down on the boardwalk and I so wish I had taken my camera to capture the sunrise - it was beautiful!!! Next year I'm definitely taking it with me. I did get some pictures of me & Adam with Sharon and Courtney Cook Friday night. The other picture is of me & Jennifer in our "twin" tops we bought while shopping Saturday! I almost forgot, Adam showed us his "big boy" appetite Saturday night at O'Charleys. He ate 2 big yeast rolls along with other food - I think that's the most I've ever seen him eat in one sitting!!!

a very sad day ...........

Today is the day that we finally have closure regarding what happened to Jake. He evidently was swimming in the pond two Saturday's ago, and had a seizure. Both Lisa and Nathan went up to the pond the day after he went missing, but it was today that he surfaced. We are all so very heartbroken, and I can't tell you how many tears I have cried for him today. I'm not ready to say goodbye to him, especially like this. Anyone reading this, just pray for our hurting hearts. We all need it in the days and weeks to come. He was 5 years old.......... I love you Jake, and I miss you......

Field day @ daycare

The end of the week brought a "field day" fun time to Adam's daycare. However, since he hasn't felt too good, he didn't want to get into the inflatable jumping thing without mommy in there also!! So, it was an interesting sight seeing me in there with all the kids jumping around us! He never would jump with the others, so we got back out shortly after the pictures was taken. He was much happier sitting out on the grass eating popcorn instead!!

The checkup

We dressed Adam back up last night so daddy and PaPaw could see our future doctor in action! He's checking himself out to make sure all is in good order!! He gave himself a clean bill of health!!

Dr. Shuler.......

This isn't as close up as I'd have liked, but I'm going to see if he wants to play "dress up" once we're home this evening. His daycare is participating in "week of the child". Today is dress up as a professional day. So I thought he would make the cutest little doctor ever! He had his doctor bag and everything, he was set! Speaking of doctors, he had an appointment today to make sure his cold isn't getting any worse. We were in and out of there fairly quickly and he had an overall good checkup. I was told to just give him some OTC meds and they prescribed some eye drops for his allergies. He's a lightweight, only weighing in at @ 26 pounds. In the picture with Adam are his two little girlfriends @ daycare...Morgan and Matilynn. They all loved having their picture taken!! If I capture a better picture tonight, I'll post again later!

our first post!

This is the first posting to our brand new "Shuler Blog"! I wanted to have a place where I could let everyone know what all was going on in our lives, as well as journal things for ourselves. With Adam changing so much, there's no way for all the family and friends to keep up with the changes, new "firsts", etc with all of our busy schedules.

I'm hoping that we have many people come check this out as often as they're able to see what we've added, and what all we've been up to. I'm going to try and add things as they happen and post pictures regularly.

To let you know what has been happening with us recently, Adam has been a little under the weather since this past weekend. He stayed home with his nana Shuler yesterday and is back at daycare today. Between the weather being so wacky and just being at daycare in general, he tends to keep the "cooties" quite regular! He had his tubes put in back in January, so this is the longest that we've went with him being so healthy. It's been nice!!

Nathan has been making time for fishing on these pretty days. He's got a few different friends that he goes with, so life has been good for him lately! lol! :0) He and his dad have been staying busy with work too, which is nice for us.

Jake, the family yellow lab has been missing now for a little over a week. Lisa has been handing out fliers to anyone she can think of and posting them whereever they'll let her. We're hoping and praying that he finds his way home to us all soon. Doug and Lisa miss him greatly. Adam misses his "no-no Jake" dog!!!

I guess that's all I can think of for now. I will be posting more in the days to come, and I hope that everyone reading this is well. Love to all!! Amy
