Happy Halloween!!!!

Well, we are off to a busy start on this Halloween day. Adam went on the parade at the hospital this morning, and got lots of candy! He made it most of the way through before he got tired of being in costume, and tired of saying "trick or treat!" Who would have thought that it would be 76 on Halloween day?? He is at daycare now and he'll have his class party this afternoon right after nap. Shortly after the party, we are heading to my work (if he cooperates) and to my mom & dads. Then tonight, we'll go see a couple neighbors and off to see different family members! Adam should be good and wore out by bedtime tonight!
This is right after he tried on the outfit for the first time. He's not too sure.........

18 weeks today!

You are 18 weeks pregnant.

Dates and numbers:
There are 153 days until your due date on April 02, 2007.
You are 127 days pregnant.
You are 4.2 months pregnant.
You are in your 5th month of pregnancy. (huh?)
Your 1st trimester: June 26, 2006 to September 24, 2006. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: September 25, 2006 to January 07, 2007. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: January 08, 2007 to April 02, 2007. (28 - 40 weeks)

Your baby is very active, and your uterus may be large enough for some of these movements to be felt as they touch your abdomen.

If you want to know the sex of your baby, you can ask at your scan appointment (though some units have a policy of not telling). You can also ask not to know, if you prefer it to be a surprise

what's going on with the baby during the 17th week....

You are 17 weeks pregnant.

Your baby can hear sounds from outside... probably very muffled. Loud noises can appear to startle some babies.

In mid-pregnancy, many women feel and look 'blooming'. Skin and hair may actually improve in texture and condition.

The eyes are facing more forward. The ears are now close to their final position.

Your baby is more flexible with ability to move head, mouth, lips, arms, wrists, hands, legs, feet, and toes.

Fingerprints are forming now.

I'm going to try and start posting a weekly update of all the fun/interesting things going on with our baby during his/her development! He/she is making so many preparations every single day!

The guys are home!!!!!!!

Nathan & Doug got in earlier (well, just a little)than planned last night at the airport! He called me periodically throughout the day once he started getting service on his phone again. I never did tell him that I was going to be at the airport with his mom last night, so I was very excited to see him after these 2 weeks! Their flight was supposed to arrive @ 10:45, and Lisa and I got to the terminal at 10:20. Right when we were getting ready to sit down, we look up and here they come! I'm so thankful to Nathan's grandmother for offering to come stay at the house w/ Adam so I could meet Nathan at the airport.

Although the guys seemed to have a good time, they did NOT kill any Elk! They did watch it snow for about a week straight! When they left to head to the airport, there was a foot of snow on the ground.

Once I get the pictures from his trip developed, I'll scan them to the computer and place some out here for everyone to see. They said that the cabin was beautiful. One of the guys that they went with built it himself. It overlooks a lake, and is sitting high up on the mountain. I can't wait to see the pictures myself!

My first trip to P.F. Changs!

I met Erin for lunch today at P.F. Changs in the new shops @ Friendly, and it was really good! I've heard lots of good things about the restaurant, so she & I decided to give it a try. I got the Changs Spicy Chicken, and Erin got the Broccoli and Beef. We both were pleased! Now, if I can just get Nathan to go there for supper one weekend! Wish me luck!

16 week update

I went to the doctor this morning, and the checkup went great. They did the AFP (alpha-fetoprotein)test, and the routine stuff. He listened to the baby's heartbeat and said that he/she must be trying to keep me in suspense. The heartbeat fluctuated between 138 - 141BPM. At the end, the h/b stayed right at 141. He said that normally anything 140 and over indicates "girl", so I guess I'll just have to wait now and see! The next appointment will be in 3 weeks to have the "big" u/s, and at that time they'll do more checking on the single umbilical artery as well.

Nathan & his dad are still on their big hunting trip. Today has been one week, and they will come home late next Monday night. I guess ya gotta love it to stay out in the middle of nowhere like that, totally away from any form of civilization!! They are staying in a cabin that at least does have heat. They are several hours away from restaurants, groc. stores, etc. I'm sure they are having fun, but I can't imagine how much both daddy and PaPaw are missing Adam! I know they'll be glad to see him next Tuesday!

Everybody's Day in Thomasville - 9/30/06

This past Saturday I took Adam to Thomasville's fall festival. For those that aren't familiar with it, they have food, rides, and crafts. The weather couldn't have been better for it this year! He had a great time, and here are some pictures of him riding the Choo-Choo train! He loved it!! In a few weeks it will be time to go to the BBQ festival in Lexington! Their festival is much, much larger than Everybody's day, and who else but..........CHRIS DAUGHTRY will be performing on one of the stages this year! Whoo-hoo!! The BBQ festival will be on October 21st.
